To work, then not to work

Ok. When we first started talking about this I was fairly confident I could continue to do my job while working from home. So what if that home happened to be in Belize? They have Internet and my company actually supplies phone services over the Internet so I'm set.

I tested the waters a little before dropping  the Belize news. Saying I would go somewhere warm (none of our company locations are anywhere near warm. Except Dallas and no way Texas. Fun to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

So I dropped the Belize news to my boss on March 25. 2 months before our departure date.  She neither agreed nor disagreed but said she needed to discuss with HR, etc etc. Fast forward 3 weeks... yes, 3 weeks... and boss drops the news back, "Nope. That's not gonna work for us." Uhhh....

AAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHJKKKLKKKLKGGGGGĢGGGGGGGGG?!??!?!?!?

BUH BUH BUH BUH BUTT!!!!! Oh good grief. .. now what am I gonna do????

But you know what?  That's actually going to be OK. Cost of living is so much less in Belize that renting our house in Colorado will more than suffice to keep us afloat. We have a good amount saved up and we'll be good financially for a little while.
