Day 4 in beautiful Belize! It has been a bit of a transition, getting used to the heat and humidity. Plus, not knowing where you are in relation to the nearest store, gas station, etc. can be a bit overwhelming. Nate and I both had a bit of a freak out moment the night we got here: “What have we done?!?!?” I cried... out of fear, exhaustion or just relief... BUT, we talked it out and we’re still good to be here for the 3 months and make a more educated decision about whether to stay or go.

Another thing we don’t have yet at our new home – internet. UGH! Was supposed to be installed yesterday, but the guy never showed up. Monday we should be back online and feeling a bit more connected. That will help a lot. Right now, we have to walk or bike about a quarter mile to the nearest restaurant with Wi-Fi.

Nate has made many friends already, with all the neighbors. Who knew he was such a social butterfly?? Almost everyone living near us is an expatriate, so they have a lot of good advice about what to do (and not to do) to make it here in Belize.

I walked to the bay this morning and stood in the breeze while the ocean sprayed at my feet. Sounds like the beginning of another wonderful day!

Finally got our internet today, too. Feeling more connected and able to research what I don't know about this place yet

Get ready for lots more posts!
